With 1 week vacations in hand i finally deicided to go to my home.My very first evening at home...as always while roaming through all but limited number of channels in my TV,I eventually get stuck to one of the news channel(although more lyk a entertainment channel now...sorry for diverting myself),it was INDIA TV,which was showing some interesting but disheartinig news regarding the misbeliefs and superstitions of our people(which surprisingly includes literate one too).
There were different kinds and forms of babas.Some were able to cure any disease(includes even diseases which medical science is unable to get any hint of..)with simple and plain water.It was amazing to see people in large number gathering to buy that local mode bottle of so called sacred water.Moving ahead,then there were some babas who were able to cure any disease by a mere touch of there hand or legs or head or anything else(again amazing).Then some were dancing and waving there whole body as if someone is playing some rocking songs.And they challenge to cure anything as they initimate their posture as one of the different forms of the almighty.
As the calculations of their income suggests that they are one of the richest people in our country with whole lots of facilities,houses in india and in abroad,many bank accounts with swiss banks as their favourites.They are paid lakhs of many for their few days visit in the city by many private companies(one baba was paid 1.5 crore by Bokaro Steel Plant for his 3 days visit in bokaro)leaving apart their income from their self manufactured medicines and products.
One of the striking features which i came across about all these babas is that most of them have their own educational institutions(one of the prime reasons is that small children can easily be motivated and they can their future disciples) and ashrams(which is their epicenter for their worng activities).
With all the wrong,illegal and inhuman practices prevailing by them the most disheartening is their involvement in various criminal activities.Murders,Threatening,Prostitution,Sex Scandals and many other are becoming synonyms to the word BABA.
India 'was' a country with all the great gurus,maharshis and kulgurus but very unfortunately these new forms of babas are redefining the meaning of the words sacrifice,purity,sacredness,truthfulness,simplicity and any other right words that we can think of.
We are educated,literate..it is us who needs to enlighten ourselves and people agaisnt these "DHONGI BABAS".I'm sure we'll not let ourselves down against these dhongi babas.
